Martin was born in 1950 and grew up in London where at school he excelled in geography and mathematics, and also gained an O level in Art. He comes from a very artistic and musical family as his father was an art teacher, and his siblings have been professionally involved with the creative aspects of television and popular music. Martin also has a musical background and started singing in his local church choir at the age of 9, and now sings with a local a capella choir.

He went to college to Plymouth where he gained his BSc degree in Geography, and then did post-graduate studies in surveying at UCL. His professional career as a surveyor has taken him all over the UK and the world, including Scotland, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Milton Keynes and now Peterborough.

Although still in progress, Martin’s art consists of lines and arcs with mostly primary colours, and because of his background in mathematics, engineering and music it has a strong clean visual appeal, while also being somewhat quirky and viewed from outside the box with a nod to lateral thinking. The originals of the works are digital, and can be seen using a pdf viewer, and for display are printed down, normally at A3 size.
